How to play Crazy 8s
Be first to play every card in your hand.
These are the rules for the PlayBurst version. Other versions may play differently.
Rules and controls
1. Match the top card
Play a card of the same suit or the same rank as the card face up on the pile.
2. Eights are wild
An eight can be played on anything, and you name the suit that follows it. It will not get you out of a draw, though: see below.
3. The other three that do something
A two reverses the direction of play, a queen skips the next player, and an ace makes the next player draw two. Aces stack: play one on top and the pile doubles.
4. Owing cards
While cards are owed, the only card you may play is another ace to pass the pile on. Not a matching suit, and not an eight. Anything else and you draw what is owed.
5. Draw if you cannot play
No legal card means drawing one card, and then your turn is over whether or not it can be played.
6. Going out
The first player with an empty hand takes the value of every card still held by everyone else. An eight is worth fifty of them. First to the target score wins.
